Quotes from our children and young people

The support has helped me to see what I was feeling was normal, and by talking through it has helped me be more focused on work and feel better in terms of everyday.

Young person whose father died

It was beneficial to take a break from day-to-day routines to reflect on my life. I was able to identify what triggers me and how to continue moving forward in my grief without worrying about the mass of other obligations I have. It validated my feelings and reduced the guilt I felt for having a different mind-set to my peers.

Young person whose mother died

You are amazing. Thank you so much. It's as though a huge weight has been lifted. Not just for me but for my son too.

Parent whose mother is unwell

It gave me time to open up. I looked forward to having time to myself and sharing how I was feeling. I've learnt that talking about my feelings helps me manage them better.

Young person whose friend died

Jigsaw4u has helped me with my grief and has let me have the time to speak.

Young person whose Mother died

I felt so much better after talking to you yesterday. Please could you also pass on my thanks to everyone there, you were all so kind, sensitive and welcoming. I know our boys will be safe with you all.

Parent whose partner is unwell

Thanks for everything you did for me and the boys, they are doing so well at school and in life generally. Thanks again to you and your wonderful team of caring people you really did make a difference to my life and the boys.

Family who received pre bereavement support

I found it really helped me to overcome some of my emotions and gave me strategies to cope with different things. I think talking really helps me with my emotions especially when I am listened to. When things are explained to me, things make a lot more sense, so that really helped.

Young person whose father died

It helped with managing feelings because it made me feel more open to talk about it (mum's death) and it helped me feel quite confident when talking about it. I am grateful for the support and that it did make a big difference, and now I see and talk about things.

Young person whose mother died

I know talking to others about my emotions is hard for me, but I feel like this support made it easier. I feel like this support has benefited me and how I cope with loss, thank you!

Young person whose grandmother died

It was an amazing feeling because I was finally being listened to. I loved it, it has made me feel better and think better.

Young person whose sister died

Thanks again from the bottom of my heart. Without you our journey could have been so very different.

Parent whose husband died

I would like to thank you for all your help and for guiding us through this difficult stage of life. We are both truly grateful.

Parent whose wife had died

Thank you very much for your help. She really seems to have gotten a lot out of your sessions especially today. You've made a world of difference. She's not at the end of the road but she's in a much better place.
