Earlier this week, our bereavement mini-documentary, ‘Then and Now,’ was in the running for the ‘Longform: £350,000 to £5 million turnover’ category at the Smiley Charity Film Awards – an event that was bursting with excitement at the ODEON Luxe (Leicester Square).

It was an incredible event, and we were delighted to reunite with our film’s interviewees and their families since the film’s production in January 2022.

Although we didn’t take home a prize this time, we’re still incredibly proud of our film’s message of hope, reminding those who have lost a loved one as a child or young person that their future can still be bright and happy.

We were thrilled to be finalists in our highly competitive category and would like to extend our thanks to the judges for their consideration of ‘Then and Now.’ Our congratulations go out to all the winners in our category!

We’d like to thank Janique, Eloise, Michelle, Nicholas, Patrick, and Mitchell, our former service-users, for their bravery in sharing their stories. Without their stories, this film wouldn’t have been possible, and we can’t thank them enough for this.

Finally, thank you to all of our supporters who watched and voted for the film, enabling us to make it to the finals. We’re excited to build on our success and channel that energy into future productions at Jigsaw4u.
